Movement:
Now, Thursday was sadly our last day there, but we were ready to hike and were planning to explore Welton Falls that day. For breakfast we all enjoyed french toast, which afterwards we (Team Charcoal) had to clean up. But it was not much of a job at all for there was little to leftover food that morning. The AMC guides called leftovers ORT: Our Remaining Tidbits. The whole idea of the ORT encouraged everyone, each meal to eat all the food we served ourselves. This made it so that there was no food being wasted. Now, yes we all physically left the lodge itself and everything around us there, but the idea of ORT traveled with us from Cardigan back to Hopkiton. Moreover, while we were there at Welton Falls we sketched the movement of the falls themselves. They joined into the fast-flowing river which we learned had also been joined by the mountain runoff. This was how the river sustained all year. The movement of the water at Welton Falls is another example of movement. Lastly, after we were done exploring and had hiked back into the lodge we slugged up to our rooms and packed everything up. It was sad leaving but soon enough we were all lined up inching onto the bus waiting to drive us back home to our families. As we traveled we moved into our county, (Merrimack) and out of theirs. (Grafton) The bus bringing us back to Hopkinton is yet another example of Movement. Overall, Cardigan was an amazing learning experience. We had fun and enjoyed the area but we also learned a few things here and there.
